A Fresh Meat Experience

A personal account from Arry, who joined SRD after years of wanting to try roller derby. The story describes arriving with little confidence, learning to skate, finding a community, celebrating progress and discovering that the falls, bruises and awkward early moments were all part of the fun.

It is a useful snapshot of what joining SRD can feel like: new skills clicking unexpectedly, teammates cheering each other on and a new skater finding confidence and friends through the sport.
